As promised, I have now included a copy of this project as I gave it to the students. Please feel free to use it. It allows them to be quite creative. My class this year went all out with their innovative thinking.

As part of our school’s focus on English skills, I got my year 7 Maths students to do an Explanation poster on the concept of Perimeter. Here are their posters. These are some photos of work done by my year 9 Maths students. We had been learning about area, circumference & measurement, and they were required to design a sprinkler layout for a garden, keeping in mind cost, water consumption and location of the sprinklers and taps. They were given specific sizes and shapes of watering patterns to use as they saw fit.
So far it has been really good to have Damian here by my side to help me with this Blog. At present it all takes a real lot of time – I hope to change that!! |
